Volunteer Coordinator
Reports to: President
Position Summary
The Volunteer Coordinator plays a key role in supporting the mission of our community theater by recruiting and mentoring volunteers who assist across productions, events, and daily operations. This position ensures a welcoming, organized, and efficient volunteer program that supports artistic excellence and fosters community engagement.
Key Responsibilities
🔹Volunteer Recruitment & Outreach
- Develop and implement strategies to recruit volunteers from diverse backgrounds, including outreach to schools, community groups, and local organizations.
- Manage volunteer applications, onboarding, and background checks.
🔹Training & Support
- Provide all new volunteers with a guided tour of the facility to ensure they are properly oriented.
- Maintain a positive, supportive environment for volunteers, offering clear guidance and communication.
🔹Coordination
- Submit all volunteer forms to the appropriate department head and coordinate with them to facilitate the volunteer’s onboarding.
- Contact the individual who submitted the volunteer form, provide a welcome, and conduct an initial discussion to clarify their interests and preferred areas of involvement.
🔹Program Management & Administration
- Track volunteer hours and maintain accurate records.
- Evaluate program needs and make recommendations for improvements.
- Create/Coordinate volunteer recognition initiatives, appreciation events.
- Collaborate with staff, directors, and production teams to understand and fill volunteer needs.

- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple tasks.

Art Wall Coordinator
Status: Volunteer / Part-Time
Reports to: Vice President / President
Position Summary
The Art Wall Coordinator manages the theater’s lobby art wall, a rotating display space that highlights local artists and adds visual interest for patrons attending performances. This role coordinates the selection, scheduling, installation, and promotion of artwork displayed in the theater lobby. The coordinator helps strengthen the theater’s connection to the local arts community while enhancing the patron experience before and after performances.
Key Responsibilities
🔹Artist Outreach & Scheduling
- Invite and coordinate local artists to display their work on the theater’s lobby art wall.
- Maintain a calendar of rotating exhibits throughout the theater season.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for participating artists.
🔹Artwork Installation & Display
- Coordinate artwork drop-off and pickup with artists.
- Supervise the artists Installation of artwork on the lobby wall
- Coordinate artist bio and print to put on wall beside artwork.
🔹Promotion
- Provide artist information and images to the theater’s marketing team for promotion on social media, in lobby signage.
🔹Lobby Experience
- Ensure the art wall remains neat, safe, and welcoming for theater patrons.
🔹Qualifications
- Interest in supporting local artists and community arts initiatives.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to coordinate schedules and manage rotating exhibits.
- Comfortable lifting a ladder so that artist can hang/take down artwork.
- Ability to work independently with occasional coordination with theater staff.
🔹Time Commitment
Approximately 2–5 hours per month, depending on show dates. Most work occurs via email with artist, and right before show opening, and immediately following the show closing.
